A lot of businesses tell a story about where they came from. This story is often a glimpse at how their business developed over time, and why they are proud to serve their customers today. This story is often simplified, watered down and generic. Often the stories of how businesses came to be in this modern age are adulterated and diluted for easy consumption by their customers. However, I believe in honesty, authenticity and showing our customers the respect they deserve by telling the real story behind mySimple Products. That being said, let me introduce myself and the business all of us at mySimple Products are grateful to have and be apart of.
My name is Michael Anderson. I am the President and Owner of mySimple Products. We used to be a one man operation. I used to purchase electronic products from wholesale auctions online. I would have them shipped to my 10' x 10' foot studio apartment. I would refurbish them and test them for functionality. Once I had determined that the items were of good quality, functional and fit for resale, I would do exactly that. I quit my job at a shoe store to start this business. This was one of the dozens of jobs I’d had over the years at the time. I started this business at 20 years of age during The Great Recession. I would work upwards of 120 hours per week. Often much more. Going days without sleep was typical. I was obsessed with creating a business that worked. I was focused beyond reason with creating a business that brought value to this world and the customers I desperately sought after. I started as a one man business that resold store-return electronics that piled up to the ceiling of my pitiful and dingy studio apartment that had no bathroom, no closet, no kitchen and no space. Over time I created a business with 10's of 1,000s of brand new, high quality items, ran by a highly skilled and dedicated team of serious professionals with an eye towards the future at all times. Going from one to the other was not easy by any standard.
After years of rethinking everything I did, organizing, researching, strategizing, struggling, building and desperately thinking outside of the box, I had finally created something of REAL value. I had created a business model that worked and had potential. The process to get to this point was more difficult than most can imagine and took more risk than most are willing to assume. I put my very livelihood on the line to create a business that would support my life, the lives of our hardworking team, provide high quality products to the customers we are ever so grateful to have, and uphold the values I have developed over years and years of hard work and dedication.
